St John's Primary school is pleased to invite you to an information and education evening on Relationships and Puberty.
There will be two sessions held on Thursday, 12 March, in the Mary Mackillop Space.
The first session will be from 6pm - 7pm and is mainly for our Year 3/4 students and families. The title of this session is 'Where did I come from?"
It will cover the structure and functions of the reproductive systems in both males and females. It will also cover information on conception, foetal development and birth of the baby, with a Catholic perspective.
The second session will be mainly for our Year 5/6 students and is titled 'Preparing for Puberty'. This will share information about the physical changes in their bodies during puberty and help students to be comfortable with the functions and changes. It aims to promote healthy body image and self esteem. This session will commence at 7:15pm for one hour.
This session will be followed up in class with us, in line with the Victorian Curriculum Health unit and the Catholic Teachings.
This education evening will be presented by professional staff from Interrelate who will share information in line with our Catholic ethos and in line with the Victorian Curriculum standards in Health Education.
If you would like to attend this program with your child or children, please purchase a $40 per family ticket via the CDFpay app - you may attend one or both sessions with this ticket.
