Religious Dimension

Sunday's 2nd Sunday Gospel reading:
Matthew 17:1-91
In Sunday’s Gospel, the disciples see Jesus transfigured. Has he changed, or have their eyes simply been opened to who he truly is? Lent invites us to see the world in a new light.
- Do you recognise the light shining in every family member?
- Do you glimpse God’s light in the small signs of new life, like buds opening in a patient gardener’s care?
This Lent, may we all try to see each person through God’s eyes, noticing the light and beauty in each other.
Glorious God,
we give you thanks for glimpses of grace, for your abundant generosity and for the strength of your love. May we reflect your glory as we walk in your way.
Amen.
Caritas Project Compassion- The Big Water Walk
This LENT we are coming together to support vulnerable communities so that we can help transform lives with everlasting change. I have registered our school so that we can contribute and raise money for 'The Big Water Walk'. Every dollar raised counts and our students have the opportunity to feel like they are making a difference.
Our Students will walk in solidarity during our Harmony Day activities on Tuesday, March 17. Buckets of water will be provided so that our students can experience what it would be like to carry buckets of water a long distance. It can take over 30 minutes for people to collect water in their villages and often it is during extreme weather and limited. I wonder if you imagine what it would be like to live without water that comes so easily from a tap. There is no running water in many of these countries to help them with cleaning, cooking and brushing teeth and showering.
For more information please follow the link below to register and find out more information.
- $40 gives 2 families a set of vegetable seedlings
- $54 can restore water sources and promote tree planting
- $100 can promote a group with basic training on business and manage helping low income women in Tanzania
- $130 can provide critical medications and supplies to individuals in Gaza.
