Education week - Thursday 6 August
Last Thursday, our Training Band, Junior Band and Concert Band students performed at the education week event throughout the day. They showcased the fantastic progress they have made this year with a lively and confident performance. It was wonderful to see their hard work and dedication pay off, and the whole school enjoyed their music immensely. Well done to all involved!
Ryde Eisteddfod - Thursday 13 August
- Full band uniform is required. JB and CB to arrive at school at 7.30am, and TB at 7:45am, on the day for a final rehearsal. After the rehearsal, students will travel to Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club by bus. Performances will be at:
Training Band at 9:30am
Junior Band at 10:30am
Concert Band at 11:30am
- Parents are welcome to attend the event. Tickets can be purchased via the Ryde Eisteddfod website.
Festival of the Bands - Tuesday 25 August
All band members will attend workshops and rehearse with the high school bands at Carlingford High School in school time.
Parents are invited to attend the evening performance. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.trybooking.com/1624294. Performing students do not need a ticket.
- Pre-purchase raffle tickets to win fantastic prizes!
- Pre-order Zappi’s pizza to collect at the end of the concert, so dinner is sorted after a great night of music.
We are building amazing raffle baskets for the Festival of the Bands Night and need new, unused donations! Gift cards, toys, games, beauty items, and gourmet treats are all perfect. Please bring donations to the school office by Friday 21 August. All funds raised support our band program 🙂
Upcoming band events
We have a jam packed Term 3 and 4 for all our bands with lots of exciting events! Please put the following dates into your diaries. Additional event dates and times will be notified as they are confirmed.
- Thursday 15 October - Epping District Music Festival: At Chatswood Concourse 7pm. Concert Band will be performing. Parents are welcome to attend - tickets can be purchased at https://AUCENTURY.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/167220. Performing students do not need a ticket.
- Sunday 8 November - Hornsby North Band Festival **Please note date change**: All bands will be participating.
- Wednesday 11 November - Remembrance Day assembly at Roselea PS: Concert Band will be performing.
- Friday 27 November - Carols by Candlelight at RPS: Night time event. All bands will be performing.
