At FPS, we are committed to embedding environmental sustainability in all that we do. Because of this, we have been recognised as an environmental leader in our local area. Having Amelia work with us will allow us to continue to improve our school’s environmental footprint and capitalise on a range of other benefits that environmental initiatives bring – for instance, cost-savings, a more beautiful school environment, increased student health and wellbeing and more!

Amelia’s role will include:

  • Working with the environmental sustainability working group (ESWG) and broader school community to develop and implement sustainability initiatives.
  • Helping FPS progress through the Resource Smart School Program.
  • Developing and coordinating community engagement activities.

Amelia has a background in community engagement, education and sustainability practice. Many of you may know her from the Alphington Farmer’s Market, where she is regularly found on a Sunday morning collecting mismatched plastic containers and lids, pairing them and then returning them to the community for use.

Amelia would love to hear from the school community about sustainability ideas or projects. Please say hello to her if you see her around or contact her via the school office at fairfield.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
