Practice-a-thon
Keep up the fantastic effort with your Practice‑a‑thon! We hope this challenge continues to inspire and motivate regular practice in the lead‑up to the Ryde East Music Festival. There are some wonderful prizes to be won, and every minute of practice counts.
Please return your completed practice sheet to Jacinta during Week 11 (starting 29 June) at your band rehearsal. This is also the time to finalise any donations.
Thank you for your enthusiasm and commitment — your hard work is really shining through.

Congratulations to Swara K for receiving an A on her Grade 1 Flute Exam, and to Elise G for receiving an A+ on her Grade 2 Flute Repertoire Exam! Well done Swara and Elise!
Ryde East Music Festival Sunday 28 June
The event will be at Ryde East Public School (12 Twin Road North Ryde).
Parking can be difficult, please ensure you allow extra time or bring an extra adult who can jump out with your child and bring them in if needed. Full band uniform is required. If your child will be unable to attend, please let Jacinta and the Band Committee know ASAP.
- Training Band: to arrive at 9.40am for performance at 10.10am
- Junior Band: to arrive at 11.20am for performance at 11.50am
- Concert Band: to arrive at 1.40pm for performance at 2.10pm
Upcoming band events
Be sure to add these to your calendar of major band events for Term 3 and 4. Additional event dates and times will be notified as they are confirmed.
- Term 3 Week 3 (Week of August 3rd) - Education week at RPS: All bands will be performing. Time and details to be confirmed.
- Thursday 13 August - Ryde Eisteddfod: At Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club. All bands will be participating. Training Band at 9:30am, Junior Band at 10:30am and Concert Band at 11:30am. Transportation and supervision will be organised in liaison with the school (further details to follow). Parents can purchase tickets to attend (tickets will be sold via official organiser and details will be shared ahead of the event).
- Tuesday 25 August - Festival of the Bands: At Carlingford High School 7-8.30pm. All bands will be performing. Parents are invited to attend at night. Ticket sales will become available in term 3.
- Thursday 15 October - Epping District Music Festival: At Chatswood Concourse. Night time event. Concert Band will be performing.
- Sunday 1 November - Hornsby North Band Festival: All bands will be participating.
- Wednesday 11 November - Remembrance Day assembly at RPS: Concert Band will be performing.
- Friday 27 November - Carols by Candlelight at RPS: Night time event. All bands will be performing.
Term 2 and 3 band invoices
Term 2 invoices are now past due. Term 3 invoices have additionally been sent out, and are due ahead of the start of Term 3. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, you are encouraged to contact the Band Committee for support.
