Being Ready to Learn in the Classroom

This fortnight, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus is on showing responsible behaviour when entering the classroom and settling in to work. Students are encouraged to move inside quietly, organise their belongings, and be prepared with the equipment they need so learning can begin quickly and calmly.

Why is this important?

When students enter the classroom quietly and settle quickly, it helps create a calm and focused learning environment for everyone. Being organised and ready to learn shows respect for teachers, classmates, and the learning time we share. It also helps students make the most of each lesson and develop positive habits for school and beyond.

Let’s all work together by:

  • Entering the classroom quietly and calmly
  • Moving straight to the correct place or task
  • Organising belongings and equipment before learning begins
  • Having the materials needed for the lesson
  • Listening carefully to teacher instructions
  • Beginning work promptly and staying focused
  • Showing respect for others by allowing everyone to learn without disruption

Let’s all do the right thing and help make our classrooms calm, organised and productive places for learning!
