Kilvington Dance Concert
Vicky Tian, Dance Captain, Year 10
On Thursday 31 October, we hosted our very first dance concert at School, featuring incredible solos, duos and small group performances.
The Dance team performed three stunning routines: The Charleston (performed first at the Jazz Cabaret), My Tears Ricochet (performed first at the Annual Concert), and It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay (a video of this performance will also be shown at Celebration Night).
The concert provided a fantastic opportunity for our dancers to showcase their talents on stage in front of a live audience. The night also featured music performances by Year 11 students, Maya Wimalasundera, Joe Ashmore and Avah Quinn, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
The event boosted everyone's confidence, and we’re thrilled to have ended our performance season for the year with a bang! We hope this inspires more dancers to join the Dance team in 2025!
The Band Concert
Ethan Russell, Year 10
The Band Concert, held on Thursday 24 October, was a remarkable showcase of Kilvington’s musical ensembles, highlighting the dedication and hard work of both students and teachers within the Music Department.
The evening displayed the budding talents of the Year 5 Band, who performed Ode to Joy and Power Rock. The Stage Band, Concert Band, and Kadenza Band played popular tunes like Thunder by Imagine Dragons, and themes from Guardians of the Galaxy, displaying the unique sounds of wind instruments.
The soloistic talents of Daniel Vanston and Charlie Sherman, Year 11, captivated the audience as they performed Mr Bojangles and Road Song. Meanwhile, the ensembles showcased the depth of the students' instrumental skills with pieces such as Pirates of the Caribbean, High and Dry by Radiohead, and My Happiness by Powderfinger.
Overall, this was a night to remember!
