What's On In 5/6

Peer Support:

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding students who have volunteered to be part of our Peer Support Program. This is a fantastic opportunity to strengthen and support our school community.

These students have stepped forward with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to make a positive difference. By volunteering for this role, they have shown leadership, empathy, and a commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone.

Training for Success

Before officially taking on their responsibilities, our Peer Support Leaders completed a dedicated training session designed to equip them with the skills and understanding needed for the role. During this training, students explored:

  • What it truly means to be a Peer Support Leader
  • How to identify problems they can confidently help with
  • When and how to seek support from a teacher or staff member
  • Practical steps for assisting with minor playground concerns

This preparation ensures that our Peer Support Leaders understand both the importance and the boundaries of their role. They are confident in supporting everyday friendship issues, small disagreements, and students who may simply need someone to talk to, while also recognising when a situation requires adult guidance.

Grade 6 Jumpers:

A recent very special milestone for our Grade 6 students worth noting was when they proudly received their Grade 6 jumpers. As the senior students of our primary school, this moment represents far more than just a new addition to their uniform, it symbolises their important role as leaders within our school community.

It was wonderful to see the excitement on their faces as they put on their jumpers for the first time. They looked incredibly smart, confident, and ready to embrace the responsibilities that come with being our school leaders. The jumpers are a visible reminder of the positive example they set for younger students each day through their actions, attitudes, and commitment to learning.

Having a tangible token such as the Grade 6 jumper makes this final year of primary school even more meaningful. It marks a significant milestone in their educational journey and celebrates their growth, achievements, and leadership. We are so proud of the way our Grade 6 students wear their jumpers with pride and represent our school so beautifully.

Congratulations to our Grade 6 cohort!  We look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in your final year with us!
