From the Principal

Our Year 12 students have embraced a wonderful goal—to achieve a mean score above 73 across all their subjects. Already, 40% of our courses are on track, which is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and support shown by students, teachers, and families. I am excited to see what more we can accomplish as we continue working collaboratively towards this achievement.

Yesterday we welcomed over 300 students from our wonderful Nirimba Collegiate schools to our Wyndham Experience Day. Year 10 students had a taste of the broad and deep curriculum, expert teaching and exceptional resources on offer at Wyndham College to support their decision making about where they will choose to study the Higher School Certificate in 2027. Congratulations and many thanks to the Wyndham staff and students for delivering such a quality experience.

Our college uniform is more than just clothing; it is a statement of belonging and pride. When our students wear their uniforms, they show respect for themselves and their peers. They demonstrate their commitment to our college values and inspire a sense of unity throughout our school. Thank you for ensuring that our students arrive every day ready to learn and represent Wyndham College. Our onsite Uniform Supplier Yeronga now has stock of jumpers and hoodies. Non-uniform items will not be accepted after this week.

We are passionate about providing quality teaching for every student. For our high potential and gifted learners, we are dedicated to nurturing their talents, helping them master course skills through explicit teaching, differentiated lessons, and engaging, challenging environments. We want every child to feel stretched, supported, and to know that their growth matters to us. In doing this we are also delivering the plan for NSW Public Education, which has rightly prioritised gifted education with no barriers.

Quakers Hill Network SRC

Well done to Shanvi and Timothy on being selected from the Inspire HPGE Platinum group to represent Wyndham College at the Quakers Hill Network SRC involving 21 schools in our area. This program provides students with the opportunity to have a direct voice in shaping their educational experience. Shanvi has written a student voice article below as a reflection of her experience.

"Stepping into my role as the SRC Director Wyndham Representative was a moment that reminded me why student leadership matters. With our focus on student voice and agency, Timothy and I were given a group of six primary students to guide, listen to, and empower. Even though we’re both High Potential and Platinum students here at Wyndham, this experience wasn’t about titles, it was about connection. Throughout the day, we encouraged the younger students to speak openly about their concerns with the education system and the challenges they face in their school communities. Their honesty surprised me in the best way. They spoke about social issues, support systems, and the pressures they already feel. Hearing this from Year 6 students who are about to enter high school made me reflect on my own journey through the years now as I am a Year 11 student. I felt proud. Proud of them, proud of the future of our 22 neighbouring schools, and proud that I could play a part in helping them shape their voices. There were moments that challenged me, especially when some of the girls opened up about gossip, body image, and the social pressures they face. I wanted to give them advice that was not only supportive but also accurate and genuinely helpful. It pushed me to think carefully about the kind of leader I want to be, someone who listens first, then guides. Working with Timothy made the experience even stronger. We balanced each other well, building bonds not only with our group but with students from other groups too. One younger boy connected deeply with Timothy, while I had a group of bright, talkative girls who trusted me quickly as an older sister figure. The staff relied on us quite a bit, and the feedback from the students showed that our first leadership session brought an impact. Walking out at the end of the day, I felt fulfilled. I felt capable. And most importantly, I felt certain that I can help bring change , not just for myself, but for the students who will follow after me."

Wyndham College Experience Day

Thanks to our Collegiate Deputy Principal and Wyndham staff for organising a fun and educational day for the Year 10 students experiencing Wyndham College yesterday.

We enjoyed the energy the students displayed as they navigated the senior environment and content in the classroom.

The students had breaks in between classes in the Library, Learning Hub and in the canteen area while learning more about our unique campus and meeting new people.

WSU Fast Forward Program

On February 18 our fantastic Platinum and Fast Forward Year 12 students headed off to Western Sydney University to find out more about university life.

Two of these students have written a reflection on their experience of the day :

"Participating in the WSU Fast Forward Program allowed me to explore two impactful fields Law and Social Work and helped me better understand the different ways professionals advocate for individuals and communities. The Law session showed me how much the legal field relies on critical thinking, communication, and problem‑solving, and it highlighted how the law can be used as a tool for justice and social change. In contrast, the Social Work session emphasized empathy, human connection, and supporting people through personal and systemic challenges, giving me insight into how social workers approach problems holistically. Experiencing both sessions helped me recognize that I’m drawn to careers centred on advocacy and helping others, whether through structured problem‑solving or compassionate support. Overall, the program broadened my perspective and strengthened my confidence as I think about my future path."

WSU Fast Forward Program - Reflection by Natalie Matheson

"Participating in the Western Sydney University Future Engagement Program helped us understand how education, community, and opportunity connect in our region.

We realised that the program is not only about university pathways but also about building confidence and awareness of the future workforce.

Through the workshops, we learned how important it is for young people to be involved in shaping the future of Western Sydney. We shared our opinions on issues like access to education, transport, and career opportunities. Hearing different perspectives from students across the region helped us see how diverse our community is. Many of us felt that the program made university feel more achievable and less intimidating.

It also showed us how important it is to have strong connections between schools, universities, and the wider community.

We appreciated that the program encouraged us to think critically about our goals and the challenges young people face today. It made us more aware of the opportunities available in areas like technology, health, and creative industries.

Overall, the experience strengthened our motivation to stay engaged, keep learning, and contribute to the future of our region. We left the program feeling more informed, more confident, and more connected to the possibilities ahead."

Year 11 Meet and Greet

Thankyou to Year 11 parents who attended our Meet and Greet on February 17 in the library. We enjoyed meeting new families as well as welcoming returning families to hear our leadership team talk about the HSC and how students can be successful at Wyndham over the next two years.

Wyndham College Open Night

Pulse Alive 2026

Wyndham College students will be performing in Pulse Alive on Wednesday the 18th March at Sydney Olympic Park.

Tickets for Pulse Alive 2026 will go on sale on Wednesday 11 February 2026 via Ticketmaster.

The show will not be televised and, due to copyright restrictions, will not be live-streamed – so the only way to experience it is to purchase a ticket and be there in person!

Uniform Shop

The uniform shop is open on Thursday mornings from 9am to10am.

You can find the shop on the upper level of C Block, just head up the Pelican stairs and go straight ahead. There is a lift available for those who need it.

2026 Premier’s Anzac Memorial Scholarship

Are you a Year 10 History or Year 11 Modern History student? Student applications are now open for the 2026 Premier’s Anzac Memorial Scholarship!

Up to 18 scholarships are available to eligible NSW high school students to travel on a government-funded study tour to Greece and Crete in the Term 3 school holidays.

Accompanied by a military historian, this once in a lifetime tour will visit significant historical sites to learn about and commemorate the service of Australian men and women.

To apply for this rewarding and hands-on learning experience you will need to create an engaging original multimedia presentation of no more than 5 minutes in length in response to the set question. Applications close 9 March.
