Creating Space to Thrive in the Library

To mark International Women’s Day, the Library is showcasing a special display titled “Queens of the Page” — a celebration of women whose voices have shaped literature, challenged ideas, and inspired readers across generations. Students are encouraged to stop by, browse the collection, and discover a new favourite writer.

Focusing on Study Skills

Our Year 11 Study Skills Program is well underway, with students exploring new ways to take charge of their learning. The most recent workshops have focused on two essential foundations for senior success:

  • Organisation — Students learned practical strategies for managing their time, structuring their study sessions, and keeping track of assessments. From using planners effectively to breaking tasks into manageable steps, the goal is to help students feel more in control and less overwhelmed.
  • Setting Goals — We explored how to create meaningful, achievable goals that support both academic progress and personal wellbeing. Students practised turning broad ambitions into clear, actionable steps they can revisit throughout the year.

These sessions are designed to build confidence and independence as students move through the senior years. Library staff are always available to help students apply these skills in their day‑to‑day study routines. Students must continue to sign in to the Library using the online kiosk to record their attendance and commitment to study sessions in the Library or Learning Hub.

Completing All My Own Work

All Year 11 students are reminded that NESA’s All My Own Work program is mandatory for the HSC and must be completed online. This program helps students understand academic integrity, plagiarism, and ethical research practices—skills that are essential for all senior subjects.

Students who need help accessing or completing the modules are encouraged to see Sally, Meena or Charmain in the Library, who can guide them through the process and ensure everything is submitted correctly.
