As we move further into Term 1, I would like to acknowledge the positive start many of our Year 12 students have made to their final year at Wyndham College.

There are several important reminders and updates for students and families as we approach a busy period in the term.

Assessment Block – Commencing Next Week

Our first Assessment Block begins next week. This is an important time for students to demonstrate their learning and progress in their HSC courses. Students are reminded that if they are unable to attend school for an assessment task, or if they miss a deadline due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, the misadventure process must be followed. Appropriate documentation, such as a medical certificate, will be required. I encourage students to communicate with their classroom teachers as soon as possible if issues arise and to ensure they are familiar with the assessment procedures outlined by the school.

A reminder:

  • Students will need a medical certificate if they are absent the day before an assessment task is due.
  • Students will need to contact the school and ask to speak to the teacher, Head Teacher or Deputy Principal if they are sick on the day an assessment task is due. Students will also require a medical certificate.
  • Misadventure paperwork can be collected from the front office.

School Uniform Expectations

A reminder to all students that school uniform must be worn at all times while on campus.

This is an important safety requirement and also aligns with the NSW Behaviour Code for Students in Public Schools.

Wearing the correct uniform helps maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.

Your cooperation in meeting these expectations is appreciated.

Wyndham Experience Day

On Thursday 5 March we welcomed over 300 visiting students to our College campus for Wyndham Experience Day. It was fantastic to see so many prospective students engaging with the opportunities available at Wyndham College and getting a taste of senior school life. Our visitors were highly engaged and respectful throughout the day.

I would particularly like to commend our Year 12 SRC, who were outstanding ambassadors for the college.

They represented our school with pride and professionalism, helping guide and support students throughout the day.

Thank you also to the many staff and students who contributed their time and effort to ensure the day was a success. A special acknowledgement goes to our Collegiate Deputy Principal, Suzy Tarasenko, for her organisation and coordination of this wonderful event.

HSC Confirmation of Entries – New Online Process

Students and families should be aware that HSC Confirmation of Entries are now available online. The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) has updated this process so that students now confirm their details digitally rather than signing a paper document.

This confirmation allows students to check that their pattern of study, personal details, and the method by which they will receive their HSC results at the end of the year are correct.

During Week 10, I will meet with all Year 12 students to guide them through logging into their Schools Online profile and completing the sign-off process. As always, I encourage our Year 12 students to stay organised, communicate with their teachers, and take advantage of the support available to them as they continue their HSC journey.

Wishing all students the very best during their upcoming assessment blocks.
