Sci Tech

Hi All,
We have had a fantastic start to our Science and Technology learning. Students are continuing to demonstrate our school values of Respect, Perseverance and Collaboration as they investigate, experiment and share their thinking. A big tick for everyone!
Year 3 & 4 students have been investigating forces in everyday life. Through hands-on experiments and rich discussion, they have explored how forces such as gravity and air resistance affect the motion of objects. Students tested how different items fall when dropped from the same height and examined why some objects fall faster than others. These investigations have encouraged students to make predictions, observe and explain their thinking while building a deeper understanding of how forces operate around them.
Year 5 & 6 students have been exploring electrical circuits and coding. They have investigated how hardware devices such as netbooks and Micro: bit computers can be combined with software programs to form functioning circuits. By creating live coding circuits, students are developing an understanding of how digital instructions can control real-world outputs, strengthening their problem-solving skills, creativity and computational thinking.
Have a great week, everyone.
