RESPECT- SMCM Social and Emotional Learning Focus for Term 3.
We are a school-wide positive behaviour for learning school. Students follow the FARM code and are explicitly taught what it means to be:
F: Friendly, Fair, Flexible
A: Act Safe
R: Respect others, ourselves and the environment
M: Make good choices
Respect is shown through words and actions. It means valuing other people's rights, feelings and boundaries through polite, positive regard.
We show respect by:
- Listening actively when others speak without interrupting.
- Being considerate of different opinions
- Accepting the need for personal space and the importance of consent
Following school expectations in the learning spaces, at break times and when online
At SMCM we are learning to speak and act with kindness and respect. Disrespect can show up in small ways. A look, eye rolling, mean comments, exclusion, leaving rubbish on the ground or throwing toilet paper around the bathroom. Every day at school, we reinforce expected, respectful behaviours to promote a positive learning environment. By consistently encouraging these behaviours, we aim to reduce the frequency of more serious disrespectful actions that can lead to bullying, damage to property, and harm to the environment.
COLOUR RUN FUNDRAISING EVENT SEPTEMBER 17th
Our major fundraising event to contribute to the redevelopment of a second synthetic turf pitch is underway. There are lots of prizes to be won as we work together as a community to improve our school's play spaces.

All children will be required to pay $5 to participate on the day.
Participation includes sunglasses, sweatbands and of course, the opportunity to run through large inflatables, amongst clouds of coloured powder and bubbles.
If you created a profile earlier in the year, log back in and all of your donations are still there, ready for you to continue.
Weekly prizes
- Week 5 Prize: the homegroup with the most profiles will get to slime their teacher on the day
- Week 6 Prize: the homegroup with the most active profiles will get to slime their teacher on the day
- Week 7 Prize: the homegroup with the highest fundraising amount to date will start the race
- Week 8 Prize: the 2 students with the highest fundraising so far get to slime Claire!
- Week 9 Prize: students who have raised $100 go into a draw for a push scooter
- Week 10 Prize: AFL Medallion Club tickets for season 2027
