Sacrament of First Eucharist
Last Saturday was a truly special day for our Year 4 students and our school community as we celebrated the Sacrament of First Eucharist alongside the schools of St Peter's Parish. We congratulate all of our Year 4 candidates on reaching this important milestone in their faith journey.
The celebration, led by Father Anh and supported by Father Isaac and Brother Xavier, was a joyful and prayerful occasion. It was wonderful to witness our students participate with such reverence, confidence and quiet joy as they received Holy Communion for the very first time. Their thoughtful presence throughout the Mass reflected not only their preparation but also the growing faith they continue to nurture within our school and parish community.
We extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated Year 4 teachers: Rebecca, Steph, Ria, Narelle, Giulia and Alex; whose care, commitment and guidance helped prepare the students so beautifully for this sacrament. Their support, together with the encouragement of our families and parish community, has made this celebration a truly memorable one.
May God continue to bless our Year 4 students as they grow in faith, guided by His love and inspired to share His light with those around them.
Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal
Over the past three weeks, our Faith and Mission Leaders have proudly led our annual Mini Vinnies Winter Appeal, encouraging our school community to collect toiletries for our local St Vincent de Paul Conference to support families experiencing hardship this winter.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our students, families, and wider school community for your incredible generosity. We were overwhelmed by the number of toiletry donations received and we know these essential items will bring comfort and hope to many individuals and families who have reached out for support during the colder months.
Our Winter Woollies and Pyjama Day was another wonderful expression of compassion in action. Last Wednesday, our school was filled with a sea of cosy pyjamas, oodies and winter woollies, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere while raising an impressive $600.
Our school community continues to demonstrate that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a significant difference. Through your generosity, we have lived out our call to love and serve others, following in the footsteps of Saint Mary MacKillop, who reminds us to "never see a need without doing something about it."
Celebrating the Feast of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop
This week, our school community continues to prepare for and celebrate the Feast of our patron saint, St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, whose feast day is celebrated on Saturday, 8th
August.
Tomorrow, we will come together in prayer and celebration as a school community. Students in Foundation to Year 3 will participate in a Liturgy at 10.00 am, while students in Years 4 to 6 will celebrate Mass at 12.00 pm.
Families are warmly invited to join us for these celebrations. Please note that our Sacred Space will be at capacity and seating will be limited. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating this special occasion together.
