2025 Deakin Young Influencer Award Winner

We would like to congratulate Bec Pearce on being chosen as the recipient of the 2025 Deakin Young Influencer Award. This award is open to all Year 11 students, and Bec was selected as Belmont High School’s winner, which is an incredible achievement.

The Deakin Young Influencer Award recognises excellence and celebrates students who are truly motivated to make a positive difference in the world, now and into the future. Deakin strongly believes in acknowledging outstanding students who embody the values of Community Leadership, Change Advocacy, and Progressive Thinking. The University has rewarded Bec’s efforts and achievements with a $5000 scholarship to support her first year of study at Deakin in 2027.

Outside of school, Bec has contributed meaningfully to her community through volunteering at her local church, where she plays piano as part of the music team and assists in Sunday School. She also helped establish a library at a new primary school by unpacking, sorting, and cataloguing books, learning a new IT system, and leading a small volunteer team. Through work experience at the same school, she further supported children who need extra help engaging with learning.
