MDP

🎶 MDP Lunchtime Pop-Up Concerts: Even More Music Ahead! 🎵

The Music Development Program's (MDP) lunchtime pop-up concerts have been a hit! Our school yard has been alive with the sound of music, thanks to the talented performers and ensembles who've shared their skills with us.

MDP have had the pleasure of putting on even more of these wonderful performances as part of Arts Week! We have heard from our Senior Concert Band, College Choir, Rock Bands, Drumline and others. We’ve got plenty more of these performances planned to showcase our ensembles and soloists throughout the term so keep your eyes and ears open around the school yard.

ENSEMBLE CONCERT

Another reminder to save the date for the MDP Semester 1 Ensemble Concert on Thursday 27th June. This event will take place at the Berwick Church of Christ and is a compulsory event for MDP members. It will feature all MPD college ensembles and is a wonderful way to see the essence of what our program is all about. This impressive event is free and open to the public. We strongly encourage friends, family and staff to attend.

CHOIR TOUR

Our college choir is getting set for our annual tour in week 11. This tour includes performances for local primary school students, as well as two public events which are free for all to attend. Please see the below poster for details. Come and support our wonderful singers!

SPOTLIGHT ON AN MDP MEMBER – CONGRATULATIONS SASKIA!

The Kambrya Arts Department together with the greater Kambrya College community would like to extend a massive congratulations to our very own Saskia Kirby on her recent win at the Take the Mic AU!

Over the weekend, Saskia showcased her talent in the second round of this fiercely competitive event, delivering a fantastic rendition of a challenging song from “Wicked”. Her performance left the judges spellbound, earning her the first-place prize and securing her

a coveted spot in the grand final event scheduled for July.

This renowned singing competition attracts thousands of exceptional performers annually, and Saskia's latest triumph fills us with immense pride. Saskia is our reigning MDP MVP as voted by MDP staff and students at the conclusion of 2023. For more details check out https://www.takethemic.com.au!

Drawing Competition

As part of our Arts Week festivities, Kambrya College proudly hosted a Drawing Competition. Open to all eager participants, from seasoned sketchers to first-time drawers, the event was a showcase of the creativity we have here at Kambrya.

The challenge was simple yet exciting. Students were asked to use either grey lead or coloured pencils only as an intended challenge.

We are excited to announce the winners of Kambrya’s first Arts Week drawing competition!
