Harmony Day
Harmony Day
Harmony day is one of my favourite days. It's one that truly reflects the diverse and accepting environment that Kambrya has created for all of us.
I absolutely loved performing and sharing a part of me and my culture with everyone at the school. The cheering, the applause and the sing-alongs made it even better and I
could see the happiness in everyone's eyes. When people came up to me afterwards and shared, “watching you perform inspires me to do the same,” I knew that I wanted to perform again next year! My group has performed two years in a row, and we’ll keep going. Watching the harmony day performances and participation in the event increase each year makes me happy.
It's the love, appreciation and respect for everyone and everything that makes me feel like Kambrya is where I belong, and Harmony Day sums that all up!

Harmony Day 2024
Harmony Day at Kambrya College is a much looked forward to event where the school community can come together and celebrate the culture of the classmates, friends and teachers around them. This year Harmony Day was celebrated on Tuesday 16th April and students were encouraged to come to school in clothing representing their culture or heritage, or with a splash of orange which is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day. During recess, we had flags printed out, based on students' demand, to take pictures with and a photo booth in the library.
As a school, we celebrated the diversity of our community by representing their culture through the arts. A lot of students had shown interest in performing for Harmony Day this year and in order to give them all a chance, our committee had successfully organised an extended lunchtime to accommodate this. This year we had performers from Year 9 through to Year 12 showing off their talents in dancing and singing! The crowd was loud, cheering and applause filling the courtyard. We would like to use this opportunity to congratulate all our participants again for their wonderful performances and involvement! Their names are listed at the bottom of this page.
The students involved showed great enthusiasm, preparing for Harmony Day for months, undoubtedly as Harmony Day is one of the most awaited days for the people at Kambrya as students and staff worked hard to make this day an unforgettable memory for everyone.
We are always aiming to attract more members into our committee, so that we can enhance our ability to promote Culture and Diversity within the school. The more members we have, the more students can get involved and the more events we will be able to organize together! Please come along to our lunchtime meetings to get involved in planning future events!
