SPORTS DATES - Term 3
Wk 3, 4 & 5 - Gymstars Training each Friday 1.40-3.20pm.
Wk 5 - Sun 24th Aug - Gymstars Practice at Peninsula Gymnastics Centre (tbc)
Wk 6 - Mon 25th or Tues 26th Aug - Gymstars Competition at Knox Gymnastics Centre (for students who have trained in this)
Wk 7 - Mon 1st Sept - Wholeschool Aths Day at Tootgarook Athletics Centre
Wk 8 - Fri 12th Sept - District Aths Day at Mornington Athletics Centre (for those who qualify following our School Aths Day)
Years 3 to 6 Athletics Trials:
Please be aware that the following trials are planned across the next three Wednesdays during PE Lessons:
- Week 3 - Wednesday 6th Aug - HIGH JUMP TRIALS for (9 yr, 10 yr, 11 yr and 12/13 yr boys and girls)
- Week 4 - Wednesday 13th Aug - 1500M TRIALS for (9 yr, 10 yr, 11 yr and 12/13 yr boys and girls)
- Week 5 - Wednesday 20th Aug - TRIPLE JUMP TRIALS for (9 yr, 10 yr, 11 yr and 12/13 yr boys and girls)
All other athletics trials (long jump, 800m, 100m, 200m, hurdles, discus and shot put) will be conducted at Southern Peninsula Athletics Centre, Rosebud, at our Whole School Athletics Day on Monday 1st September.
Alfred at the State Cross Country (Yarra Valley)
Alfred Hindle continues to amaze us with his determination and hard work as he competes yet again at another State Event. This time it was the State Cross Championships in the 12/13 year boys Multi-Class 2 km event at Yarra Valley Racecourse two Thursdays ago. Although he did not receive a medal in the event, he came a very respectable 7th Place and was very happy not to be running in the rain and mud this year! Alfred was representing not just St Joseph's School, but the Phillip District, the Southern Peninsula Division and the South Metro Region as he ran against the best in his class from Victoria.
We are so proud of you at St Joseph's School, Alfred! You are a true champion!
Term 3 Sorrento PS Auskick Centre (5 week program)
We have been invited to join our neighbours at Sorrento PS for the 5-week Auskick Program being conducted during Term 3 for ALL GIRLS GROUPS and MIXED GROUPS (Open to ages 5-16 years). It commence AT SORRENTO PRIMARY from Wed 6th Aug to Wed 8th Sept. from 3.45-4.45pm.
