Grade 1 - Update

Be Kind

Be Responsible

Be an Active Learner

We have been having so much fun in Grade 1 this term! Our Reading and Writing lessons have been closely linked to our Curiosity unit, creating hands-on, engaging, and magical learning experiences for our students.

As part of our learning, the Grade 1 students participated in an exciting science experiment where they created “animal blubber” (see photos below). This activity helped students explore how animals adapt and survive in different environments.

Throughout the remainder of Term 2, students will continue investigating a variety of animals, including their diets and habitats. They will also be discovering how labelled diagrams can be used to add detailed information and support their understanding.

To add an extra layer of excitement to our Curiosity topic, How are living things unique and what do they need to survive?, we will be participating in a special animal incursion on Thursday, June 4.

We hope you enjoy looking through these photos as much as our Grade 1 students have enjoyed their learning this term.

From the Grade 1 Team,

Brianna, Penny and Jacquie
