What an amazing night we had all glammed up at our Term 2 fundraiser on Saturday night. There was plenty of competitive trivia, delicious canapés, and lots of time to catch up with one another. A massive thank you to our wonderful project managers Lou Pedersen and Emily Tayler. These women put in an incredible amount of work to make this event such a success.
Thank you also to Chloe, Amanda, Karleen, Alice, Ros and Emily for chasing donations, selling raffle tickets, and setting up the photo wall. And a big thanks to all the parents and carers who supported the night, helping us raise much‑needed funds to enhance our beautiful kids’ play spaces.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held on July 29th. The AGM is an opportunity to share the 2025 Annual Report with the community. Please mark it in your calendar and join the School Council in the staff room from 6-7pm.
Over the past two weeks, we have surveyed our year 4-6 students about their experiences at SMPPS. The information we gather will guide future planning. It will highlight the areas where we are performing well and celebrate the strengths of our school community, while also identifying the areas where we can make meaningful improvements. Most importantly, it ensures that our decision‑making keeps kids at the heart.
A reminder that our school tours for families with children starting Prep in 2027 are filling quickly. If you have a Prep beginning next year, you may like to secure a place on one of our remaining tours here, we now have only three sessions left.
We encourage families within the broader Albert Park community to book in as well. The response so far has been fantastic, with many families eager to learn more about life at SMPPS and see our learning spaces in action.
Enrolments for 2027 are completed online through the VicStudents portal. Additional details, including step‑by‑step instructions, can be found in our enrolment information pack.
A reminder that this Friday, 5 June, is a pupil‑free day. Our teachers will be taking part in a Professional Practice Day focused on assessment and reporting. TheirCare will be running a full‑day program and are currently taking bookings for families who need care.
Please also note that next Monday, 8 June, is the King’s Birthday public holiday. We hope everyone enjoys the 4 day long weekend.
