5/6 Quantum Excursion

5 & 6 Quantum Excursion

On Thursday 4th of June, we went on an amazing trip to La Trobe P-12 College. When we arrived we were split into two groups (56A and 56B) and were given a card with our locker number and a QR code. When we got in our pairs of two, we were guided to scan our QR code and complete a pre-test about coding and Lego robotics. Then we were given our Lego robots from Jake and Toni and were also given a set of computers. Over time we were given numerous challenges to complete by coding. Midway we were given a time of 30 minutes to eat our lunch and play in the theater room while we were eating our lunch. They brought out some 3D printed puzzles and toys for us to play with, it was really fun.
Then the hard part! We were given a heap of challenges to save a town from a fire. We needed to code each challenge and we would get points for each one we achieved. It took us countless failures and a whopping 40 minutes of coding but in the end it was all worth it because all the groups got points! Overall it was a fun, engaging and educational experience. We had a lot of fun playing with Lego robotics and would love to go again.
