The Portals rock out

The Parents Battle of the Bands Grand Final was held on 18 September and what a night it was! 

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to cheer on our band, The Portals – we had our highest ticket sales yet and we are thrilled that they finished second to the amazing Ripoffs from Ripponlea Primary School.

Together, our PMPS parent band community has helped raise over $13,000 for the school’s performing arts program so far – an incredible achievement that will directly support our students’ creative opportunities.

The band said a heartfelt goodbye to their talented lead singer and flautist, Karen Schofield, whose energy and voice have been at the heart of the band for years. As they look to 2026, they're now on the lookout for new female singers to join the fun – if you love music and a bit of friendly competition, they'd love to hear from you!

You can catch them at the School Fete on Saturday 15 November, taking the stage at 1:30pm – come along, sing, dance and enjoy the vibes!

And for all the keen planners out there, mark your calendars now – next year’s Battle of the Bands will be in mid-May 2026. It’s going to be bigger, louder and even more fun!
