CSSA Western Zone Football Gala Day Success

On Wednesday 22 April, Wagga Christian College Secondary School students proudly represented the College at the CSSA Western Zone Football Gala Day, with an impressive 54 students competing across Under 15s and Open divisions in Boys and Girls teams.

All teams demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, skill, and determination throughout the day and competed extremely well against strong opposition. It was a particularly proud moment for the College to field an Open Girls team for the first time, marking an exciting milestone for our sporting program.

There were many highlights from the day. The Under 15s Girls finished strongly, winning their final match 3 to 1. Both boys teams performed exceptionally well, with the Under 15s Boys winning their group and progressing to the next stage of the competition in Sydney. The Open Boys also enjoyed a highly successful campaign, finishing equal first, but narrowly missing qualification for the state competition due to goal difference.

Congratulations to all students who represented the College with pride and commitment. A big thank you must also go to the staff who supported the teams on the day, Mr Harrison, Mrs Cowley and Mr Kinning with special thanks to Mr Harrison for organising the entire event.

We are very proud of our students efforts and look forward to continued success in future competitions.
