Principal's Press

Dear families,

This year staff have been revisiting God’s Big Picture by Vaughan Roberts and reflecting on God’s grand plan. The book is a simple look at how all of the Bible tells one story, despite containing 66 different books, written by more than 40 authors, over approximately 1,500 years, and a variety of genres.

Chapter 1 is a refreshing reminder of the start of God’s plan. Roberts highlights the“pattern of the kingdom” we see in Genesis 1–2 — God’s people living in God’s place under God’s good rule and enjoying God’s blessing. We see a picture of harmony and trust, where people thrive because they allow their lives to be shaped by God’s design. Moreover, we see a picture of deep peace, where God and mankind walk together.

Even though that pattern is later fractured by sin, the Bible’s story points us to the hope God offers through Jesus — the One who restores us to peace with God and opens the way back into the life we were created for.

Parent Forum and Strategic Planning

Parents are warmly invited to join the Principal for a Parent Forum to discuss several recent and upcoming developments at the College, as well as an opportunity to contribute to developing our next Strategic Plan. The session will include a discussion on the College’s ban on smart watches, the uniform review currently underway, and other areas of change and planning. There will also be an open opportunity for questions and feedback as we continue shaping the future direction of the College together.

The parent forum will be held in the TLA, on Tuesday 5 May in two sessions, firstly at 2:15pm and secondly at 5:00pm.

A parent survey requesting your feedback and perspective as we look forward to developing our next Strategic Plan will be coming soon.

Compassion Partnership Update – Term 2, 2026

Our partnership with Compassion continues to grow across the College, and Term 2 marks the next stage of our whole school service learning journey. Each year group (K–12) is now connected with one Compassion participant from rural Indonesia, and students have already begun building meaningful relationships through letter writing, prayer, and classroom learning.

This term, students in Years 7–12 will take part in a series of Compassion led workshops exploring biblical justice, global poverty, and practical ways to make a difference. Year 9 will complete Biblical Justice 101, Years 10–12 will experience The Village Game poverty simulation, and Years 7–8 will participate in creative “Make a Difference” and “Compassion Creators” workshops. Primary school students will continue their learning later in the year through Colin Buchanan devotionals and the Poverty Stops With Me program.

Throughout 2026, students will write to their Compassion participant four times (once each term) helping them build longterm connections – our first letters back have already started arriving. The program for the year will culminate in a whole school Compassion Day celebration, including an assembly, and a Colour Run fundraiser.

We are grateful for the way this partnership is shaping our students in compassion, justice, and global awareness, and we look forward to seeing these rhythms continue to grow across the College community.
