ACS Cross Country

The recent ACS Cross Country Championships was a successful day for Overnewton, with students producing strong performances across all year levels.

The success of the team was built on the dedication of students in the lead-up to the Championships. Regular training sessions provided opportunities for students to develop their fitness and prepare for the demands of cross-country racing. Their willingness to commit to training and continue working towards the event was an important part of the team's performance.

A particular highlight was the performance of our Year 8 and Year 9 students, who both secured overall year-level victories. These results reflected the depth of our runners and the commitment shown throughout the preparation period.

There were also some outstanding individual results, with Nathan H, Tahlia S, Will W and Aidan B all taking out wins in their respective races. Their performances were a fantastic achievement and contributed to Overnewton's strong overall showing.

A special mention must also go to Mr Caines for his work in preparing the students for the Championships. His commitment to the training program and support of the runners throughout the season played an important role in helping students reach their potential.

Congratulations to all students who competed at the ACS Cross Country Championships and to everyone who contributed to a successful day for Overnewton.

ACS Night Match

Overnewton enjoyed a fantastic evening at our recent ACS Night Game against Loyola, with the event providing a great opportunity for our students, families and staff to come together and support our teams.

While both our girls' and boys' teams were unable to secure a win on the night, the results did not reflect the quality of the performances. Both teams showed excellent effort and application throughout their games, continuing to compete and support each other right until the final whistle.

The atmosphere throughout the evening was a particular highlight, with strong support from our College community creating a memorable experience for the students. The opportunity to compete under lights also added something different to the regular ACS program and provided our students with an experience they will remember.

The ACS Night Game is a great feature of our calendar each year, and we look forward to hosting the event next year.
