New Chirnside Building Opening Ceremony

Tarneit Senior College recently celebrated the official opening of its newly established Chirnside Building, which has been in use since Semester 2, 2024. The opening ceremony was a momentous occasion, with Principal Shane Cole-Hayhow extending a warm welcome to State Member for Tarneit, Dylan Wight, and a number of esteemed education officials.

On the day of the ceremony, Student Body Presidents Erasti Kanellopoulou and Nyapath Malek proudly guided guests on a brief tour of other exciting new developments across the college. Highlights included renovations to the new science room labs, the new computer suite dedicated to photography and media in B10, and the introduction of new machinery and classes for woodworking and metalworking. These new facilities and technologies ensured students were not disadvantaged or limited in their learning or education.

The newly opened Chirnside Building offers the college an additional 10 spacious classrooms, along with office spaces and collaborative oppurtunities. These modern facilities have already proven to be invaluable to both students and staff. During the ceremony, speeches by Principal Shane Cole-Hayhow and Dylan Wight highlighted the importance of learning spaces in education.

With the official ribbon cutting, the school community is excited to witness the ongoing growth of Tarneit Senior College and the continued enhancement of its facilities, which are designed to inspire, engage, and support students in their educational journey.
