Leadership Academy of Australia

- Youth Conference

On Thursday the 27th of March, Nyapath and I, along with our fellow Student Council Leaders, attended the annual Leadership Academy of Australia Conference, which brings student leaders from schools all across Melbourne to develop their Leadership skills and ability to bring about positive change within the school community.

At the conference, we heard from a variety of guest speakers who shared with us how they promote skills that empower young leaders to develop projects that improve the communities they live in, improve student voice and agency among young people who might feel excluded, and how to understand issues facing young people and create practical solutions to improve their experience at school.

The day was incredibly exciting to be a part of, and it was great to see all of our Student Council members getting involved with other schools, and with each other, to share their ideas and develop goals to improve Tarneit Senior College using the ideas and inspiration shared by the guest speakers and members of the Youth Leadership Academy of Australia.

On behalf of Student Council, we'd like to thank the College for giving us this opportunity to develop our skills and learn from other young leaders in the Community. We are excited to share the plans we developed and help improve the College for future generations of students!
