JMSS Careers Newsletter

Hi All,

We held the JMSS Career Expo on Tuesday the 26 May, a great day for all involved! This gave students the opportunity to find out about different course providers, career pathways and courses.

Students used this opportunity to ask uni reps about courses, scholarships, pathways and about uni life and what to expect.

Work Experience is fast approaching, and students who have not found a placement yet need to continue to look and widen their search. We understand this can be challenging, so please remember that support is available.

Places students can contact include pharmacies, primary schools, dermatology centres, gyms, sporting or entertainment clubs, veterinary clinics, and dental practices. Retail environments like beauty salons can also provide exposure to areas such as laser therapies and cosmetic treatments, which can open doors to careers in science, biomedical science, or dermal science. Pet shops are another great option, often offering hands-on animal experience and, in some cases, opportunities to observe or assist alongside a veterinarian.

Feel free to visit the Careers area if you need support or ideas. We’re here to help.

This newsletter is a big one. Please take some time to look through it as it does have something for everyone. Please use the link below to open the final Careers Newsletter for Term 1.
