School Captains' Address

Hello JMSS community,

Here’s a brief update on the events this term.

World's Greatest Shave:

We raised $9,801!

Thank you to every single donor. 

This term our school came together for the World's Greatest Shave, and the generosity was nothing short of remarkable. A grand total of $9,801 was raised for blood cancer research  a testament to what this community can achieve when it shows up. Every dollar counts, and you delivered.

Teacher forfeits, water balloons & chaos:

 Highlights included hot noodles, several ice bucket challenges, and a pie to the face. The student leaders then sprinted a lap around the school while students unleashed a barrage of water balloons. It was a genuinely wonderful afternoon, and seeing everyone getting involved take made it all the more memorable.

Athletics Day:

House spirit on full display.

Despite the biting cold, our Athletics Carnival was a spectacular show of house pride and creative costuming. The energy in the stands was electric, and it was wonderful to see students competing with such enthusiasm across every event.

Special shout-out to Ms Porter, organising a house athletics carnival in her first year at JMSS is no small feat, and she pulled it off brilliantly. The day ran seamlessly, and the whole school is grateful. And to everyone who ran the 1500m in the pouring rain, that took genuine grit. Well done.

The end of term is near, SAC season is approaching.

As we head into the final stretch of Term 2, a reminder to stay on top of your revision. SAC season waits for no one. Keep your notes organised, look after yourselves, and stay motivated. You've had a fantastic term; finish it just as strong.
