Principal News

Dear Families

As we come to the end of another wonderful term at Sacred Heart, I would like to sincerely thank our families for the partnership we share in supporting the growth, wellbeing and learning of every child. Working together as the Sacred Heart community is one of our greatest strengths, and I am grateful for the trust and support you continue to show our school.

Throughout Term Two, our students have engaged enthusiastically in their learning, demonstrating curiosity, resilience and a commitment to doing their best. It has been a pleasure to witness the many achievements, successes and moments of growth that have occurred across all year levels. We celebrate all that our children have accomplished and look forward to seeing this learning continue to flourish in Semester Two.

I would also like to acknowledge and thank our dedicated staff. Their hard work, commitment and care for our students are evident every day. The opportunities they provide, both inside and outside the classroom, enrich the lives of our children and contribute greatly to the vibrant learning community we enjoy at Sacred Heart.

A special thank you to Miss Maloney for her leadership of our Feast of the Sacred Heart celebrations. It was a wonderful day that reflected our faith, social justice and sense of community. We are very proud of our Year Six students leading the whole school activites

Our sporting programs continue to provide students with valuable opportunities to develop teamwork, perseverance and school spirit. Thank you to all staff, students and families who have supported our sporting events throughout the term.

Message from Mr Jaynes - regarding Sport

It has been an incredibly busy and successful few weeks of school sport at SHS, with students proudly representing our school at the Southern Division Cross Country Carnival and the Dendy Soccer, Netball and Boys AFL Lightning Cups.

At the Southern Division Cross Country Carnival in Hastings on Wednesday, four of our runners produced outstanding results against strong competition. Congratulations to Isabelle, who finished 2nd, Noah, who placed 6th, and Amelia, who finished 9th, with all three students qualifying for the State Cross Country Championships. Elwood also ran exceptionally well, finishing 21st in a highly competitive field. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and wish our state qualifiers the very best in their next challenge.

Our students also represented the school with great pride at the Soccer, Netball and Boys AFL Lightning Cups. Across all teams, students demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, passion and commitment throughout the day, supporting one another and competing with enthusiasm.

A special congratulations must go to our Girls Soccer team, who were crowned Dendy Shield Champions after an unforgettable final. Locked together after regular play, the match was decided in a remarkable penalty shootout that extended to 17 penalties. It was a nail-biting finish and a fantastic reward for the team's determination, resilience and teamwork.

Well done to all students who represented our school so positively throughout these events. Enjoy your holidays.

Our new Four Square Courts

The addition of our new Four Square Courts and nearly finshed Gah Gah Pit has brought great excitement to our playground spaces. It has been wonderful to see students actively engaging in these new facilities and enjoying the opportunities they provide for play, connection, physical activity and life experiences. Learning to go out graciously and agree to disagree about liners are all such valuable life experiences!
