Strengthening Community Health
In Term 1, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Team has been dedicated to fostering a strong connection with the Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service – Aboriginal Corporation. We believe that engaging with local health services, such as TAMS-AC, offers significant benefits to our school community. TAMS-AC provides culturally appropriate, bulk-billed healthcare services designed to improve health outcomes for both Aboriginal Peoples and non-Aboriginal individuals in Tamworth and surrounding areas.
We encourage all families within our school community to consider utilising the comprehensive services offered by TAMS-AC, which include:
- Clinical Services: General practice care, chronic disease management, vaccinations, maternal and child health services and on-site pathology.
- Social & Emotional Wellbeing Services: Holistic mental health support addressing emotional and social needs within a culturally sensitive framework.
- Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs Programs: Education, prevention, treatment and support for substance misuse, tailored to the needs of the community.
- Dental Services: Preventative and emergency oral healthcare for individuals of all ages.
By accessing these services, families can ensure their health needs are met in a supportive and culturally aware environment. For more information or to make an appointment, please visit TAMS
Vinnies Group
Come along to support the good works that our school Vinnies group are doing. By supporting Tacky Tracky Day and the Trivia Night, both on July 3rd, you are helping us to continue to offer gifts of service and to stand in solidarity with the poor. This year, we have collected and donated "dignity packs" which were gratefully received by Vinnies in Taminda to be shared to those in need in our local community.
Pictured here is our happy recipient of the packs.
