Dear families,

Prep Enrolment Process Commences

On Tuesday 28th April at 6:30pm, we hosted our 2027 Prep Parent Information Night in our Junior Building.

It was fantastic to welcome so many prospective families and to share a snapshot of who we are, what we value, and how we support every Willy Kid to learn, grow and thrive.

We were really pleased with the strong attendance on the night, and it was great to see such a high level of interest in our school. The evening also marked the start of our 2027 school tours, with our first tour drawing a terrific turnout.

We always value the opportunity to connect with new families and showcase our school community, and we’re looking forward to welcoming many more families across our upcoming tours.

Upcoming 2027 Prep School Tours

We look forward to continuing to welcome prospective families at our upcoming school tours:

  • Tuesday 5th May – 9:30am
  • Thursday 28th May – 2:30am
  • Tuesday 9th June – 2:30am

Student Leaders Represent WPS at ANZAC Day Dawn Service

We are incredibly proud of our student leaders who represented Williamstown Primary School at this year’s ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Williamstown Cenotaph.

Our students laid a wreath on behalf of our school community, and also took on the important role of supporting the ceremony by escorting community groups as they came forward to lay their own wreaths. This included assisting a range of local organisations, as well as the Hon. Melissa Horne MP for Williamstown.

They carried out their responsibilities with great respect and maturity, demonstrating the values we hold strongly at our school. Their conduct was a wonderful reflection of our community, and a reminder that Willy Kids are Friendly Kids.

Thank you to our student leaders and their families for their commitment to being part of this important community tradition.

Get Ready for Our Mother’s Day Stall – Next Thursday!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and we’re excited to help our students show their love and appreciation with our annual Mother’s Day Stall, happening next Thursday 8th May!

The stall will be filled with a wonderful range of affordable gifts selected especially for mums, grandmas, and special carers. Prices will range from just a few dollars, so there’s something for every budget.

Details:

  • When: Thursday, 7th May
  • Where: School Library
  • Time: During school hours (students will visit with their class)

Please send your child to school with a small amount of money in a clearly labelled envelope or purse. Reusable shopping bags are also welcome so little ones can easily carry their gifts home.

Thank you for supporting this much-loved event. It’s a great opportunity for students to experience the joy of giving and celebrate the special people in their lives!

Industrial Action Update

We would like to inform families that the Australian Education Union has advised of further planned industrial action in the coming weeks.

At this stage, we are continuing to work through the potential impact this may have on our school’s operations, including any changes to programs, meetings or communication processes.

Please be assured that we will keep our community informed as details are confirmed. Any updates relating to the impact on Williamstown Primary School will be communicated directly to families via Compass and the school newsletter.

We appreciate your understanding and support, and we will continue to prioritise student learning, wellbeing and safety during this time.

Warm regards,

Mat Montebello
