Wellbeing & Inclusion
at Willy
This term, our students will be exploring the Respectful Relationships focus area of Personal and Cultural Strengths. This important learning will take place on a fortnightly basis across Term 2 and is closely aligned with our Willy Kids are Friendly Kids program.
Through this unit, students will develop a deeper understanding of their own strengths, identities and backgrounds, while also learning to recognise and value the diverse strengths of others. Classroom learning will include opportunities for students to:
This learning also connects strongly with our whole-school focus on First Nations perspectives, particularly during NAIDOC Week and National Reconciliation Week. Students will engage with age-appropriate experiences that celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, further strengthening their understanding of respect, inclusion and belonging.
By linking this work with our Willy Kids are Friendly Kids approach, we continue to promote a positive, inclusive school culture where every child feels valued, respected and proud of who they are.
We encourage families to support this learning at home by talking with your child about your family’s background, traditions and the strengths you see in them and others.
