From the Leadership Team

I’m really pleased to share how excited I am to be stepping into the role of Acting Head of Senior School for Term 2.

It’s a wonderful opportunity, and I’m looking forward to supporting the growth and learning of both our students and staff across Years 10, 11 and 12.

Thank you to the many parents and students who took part in this week’s Care Group Connection Night. It was fantastic to see students from Years 8, 11 and 12 engaging in meaningful reflection about their learning. Many demonstrated impressive levels of critical thinking, self-awareness and the ability to reflect on their own thinking. These are valuable skills that help students understand their progress, recognise their strengths, and identify areas for growth.

We hope the evening also gave parents a chance to connect deeply with their child’s learning journey and strengthen relationships with Care Group teachers.

Term 2 is now well underway, and it’s been great to see students return with such enthusiasm and a determination to do their best. There are plenty of opportunities this term for students to get involved and represent the College, including Sport through the Rijken Cup and SACSA Soccer, as well as Debating, Music events such as Cabaret and Senior Solo Night, and Pedal Prix.

It’s also a significant term for our senior students as they begin preparing for mid-year examinations. Our focus is on supporting students to develop effective study habits and the skills needed to perform under timed conditions.

While exams are still some weeks away, it is the work students put in now, building consistent routines and strong understanding of concepts which will make all the difference.

I look forward to continuing to connect with our Senior School students and their families throughout the term.
