Konnichiwa, Monty Community!
All students at Monty celebrated Kodomo no Hi (Children’s Day) last week. It is a special day in Japan when parents and carers wish for their children to grow up healthy and happy.
Students learned more about the meaning and traditions of this celebration and enjoyed making origami Koinobori (carp streamers) and Kabuto (samurai hats).
Seeing Monty students celebrating Children’s Day reminded me of my own childhood in Japan and brought back many wonderful memories.
Arigato — Thank you!
