One of the highlights of the term has been the Year 1 concert, A Symphony of Stories. The students loved practising and performing songs and sharing their talents with our school community. The students displayed bravery, flexibility, teamwork and of course, excellence! We would like to thank Olivia for her dedication as well as the parent involvement that made the night the huge success that it was.

Numeracy

In Numeracy, students have developed their understanding of addition and subtraction through a range of hands-on and engaging activities. They have used concrete materials, problem-solving tasks and best of all, games. It has been wonderful to see the students’ excitement, especially when working with high numbers!

Literacy

In Literacy, our students have been inspired by the hilarious Pig the Pug stories. They have enjoyed exploring the characters and identifying their different character traits and how those traits can be shown in their own stories.

As part of this learning, they have been exploring rhyme and experimenting with rhyming words to make their writing fun, creative and engaging. When sharing our stories, there were plenty of giggles and compliments!

Celebrating Book Week

Book Week was another exciting highlight this term. The parade gave students the opportunity to show off their amazing costumes. We then met with our 2025 buddies who are now in Grade 6 for a shared storytime and activity. All teachers involved were blown away by students’ positive calm behaviour and collaborative skills.
