Stars on Stage 2026
Celebrating Our Senior Choir Students
The Primary Schools Festival of Music is an iconic South Australian tradition that has inspired generations. It gives students the chance to experience artistic excellence, embrace cultural diversity, and celebrate social inclusion through the joy of performance.
When our Year 5 and 6 Senior Choir students took to the stage at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for the Public Primary Schools Festival of Music Stars on Stage, they performed with confidence and pride. Each concert featured 1,300 Year 5 and Year 6 students joining voices in a breathtaking massed choir. The orchestra, street percussion instrumentalists and the dancing troupe, all students from SA public schools, added to the overall spectacle. Audiences were treated by Guest Artists from primary and secondary schools, with vibrant performances across a range of musical genres. The whole night was a blaze of colour and student brilliance!
This year’s concert opened with Pentatonix’s Sing! and closed on a powerful high with a medley of two Marcia Hines hits, Music Is My Life and I’ve Got the Music in Me. We also performed the South Australian Premiere of Wattle Sky, three songs about our national flower emblem, the wattle.
Stars on Stage was truly a spectacular celebration of what public school students can achieve when they come together through music and the arts. We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work during the year learning to sing the 12 songs, their enthusiasm in rehearsals and their brilliance on stage.
Many thanks to Ann Piper for accompanying us on piano as we learnt the songs. A big thank you to our parent helpers Jess Reimann and Jasna Carr for helping us on our rehearsal and concert day. Thank you to the class teachers for your support with practices during the year. And lastly, thank you to our supportive parents who encouraged and helped us all year to achieve our goal of performing at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
