A Wonderful Term at Magill School
As we move from the colder weather into the warmth and sunshine of spring, it is a lovely time of year to reflect on what has been a term filled with fun, excitement and learning at Magill School.
This term has been full of special events and memorable experiences for our students. From the Year 5 camp and Sports Day to ABODA, the Choir Concert and Market Day, there has been so much happening across the school. These opportunities not only enrich student learning, but also help build connection, confidence and school spirit.
Recently, Sonia Magon and students from F10 presented a numeracy parent workshop focused on fluency and problem solving — two important areas that teachers have been strengthening through their maths programs. The session booked out very quickly and was very well received by all who attended. It is an important part of our work to keep parents informed and connected with our approaches to teaching. We look forward to planning further parent workshops next year.
There is also much to look forward to in Term 4, including the Colour Run, Instrumental Music Concert, Year 6 graduation celebrations and our end-of-year concert. It promises to be another busy and exciting term for our school community.
A huge thank you goes to our dedicated and professional staff, our students who are always eager to learn and persevere to do their best, and our parents who continue to be so supportive and engaged in their child’s learning. It is this strong sense of partnership that makes Magill School such a special place.
One of the most anticipated releases each term is always the latest episode of Inside Magill. The newest episode highlights some of the wonderful learning opportunities our students participate in throughout the term. I hope you enjoy watching it.
Congratulations also to Rebecca MacQueen, who has been appointed as our OSHC Director on a full-time basis. Rebecca has done a wonderful job leading our service, and the Governing Council did not hesitate in deciding to appoint her permanently. We are delighted to have her continue in this role.
Finally, thank you for another wonderful term at Magill School. The Magill community is very special, and I am especially proud of the rich and varied learning opportunities we are able to provide for our students.
Have a happy and safe break, enjoy the sunshine, and let’s get ready for an extremely busy and exciting Term 4.
