Learning in Faith

Catholic Education Week at St Mary's
Last week, we celebrated Catholic Education Week. Catholic schools across the Archdiocese of Melbourne marked the occasion, highlighting the great things that took place in Catholic schools every day.
This year’s theme was “Christ beside me: Walking in the footsteps of Saint Patrick.”
Students learnt about Saint Patrick through daily prayer and Religion lessons and also took part in several activities, including our “Finding Jesus in Others” recess and lunchtime kindness activity.
On Thursday, we held a Social Justice Fundraiser. Students were invited to wear a touch of green and bring a gold coin donation for Project Compassion to support communities in need. We thank everyone for their wonderful support.
Sacrament of Reconciliation this week
We congratulate our students who will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Thursday. The students have prepared for this special occasion by learning about the sacrament at home with their families, as well as with their classmates at school.
Holy Week celebrations next week
As we approach Easter, our St Mary’s community will gather each day next week to reflect on the events of Holy Week through prayer and liturgy.
Families and friends are warmly invited to join us as we remember the story of Jesus and share in this special time in the Church’s year.
Please find the details below. We hope to see you there!
