Reflection for Lent
Lord God,
your love restores the dignity of the broken-hearted.
Please help us to lift each other up in our words and through our actions.
Lord, in an unjust world,
let us practice virtue in small ways and raise our voices to create a more just world in big ways.
Amen
This Lent, our school community is supporting Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion, uniting in faith and action to make a lasting impact for vulnerable communities around the world. In our classrooms, we’ll be sharing four inspiring stories of resilience and strength, showing the kind of transformative change that we can play a part in achieving. You can support Project Compassion 2026 through the donation boxes or by scanning the QR code to donate online. Every little bit helps!

It is hard to believe that Term 1 is nearly at an end. It has been a busy term full of new learning. We invite everyone in to join us for the Holy Week liturgies next week. Please see the Learning in Faith page for days and times.
Our Year 6 leaders were proudly presented with their leadership jackets and badges, marking their important roles within our school community. This special moment recognises not only their leadership positions, but also the responsibility, commitment and positive example they set for others each day.
We are incredibly proud of the way our Year 6 students are stepping into their roles and look forward to seeing the impact they will continue to have across St Mary’s.

The students were invited to attend Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral alongside primary and secondary student leaders from across Victoria. This is a special rite of passage for student leaders, recognising the important contribution they make to their school communities.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together with other young leaders, reflect on their roles, and celebrate the positive impact they are making within St Mary’s.

This week, I will be attending the Victorian Association of Catholic Primary School Principals (VACPSP) Conference in Lorne from Tuesday to Friday. This is a valuable opportunity to engage in professional learning alongside colleagues from across the state, with sessions led by world-renowned educators.
During my absence, Naomi Corfield will be Acting Principal. I will still have access to email, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if needed.
