Sammy is a Weedy Sea Dragon and is found in the waters of Western Port Bay.
One of their greatest talents is that they can hide. This helps them to look for students who are showing the St Mary’s School Values.
You will see Sammy displayed around our school to remind the teachers to look out for students who are being RESPONSIBLE, SAFE and RESPECTFUL.
When we show that we are using our school values, we might receive a Mighty Mary token.
Our certificates at assembly will now be awarded for showing the school values.
Look how clever Grace D in grade 3 is!

St Mary's staff are dedicated to the health, safety and wellbeing of all students. Our whole school policies, programs and initiatives are informed by best practice and legal obligations, as outlined in the MACS Child Safety and Wellbeing Framework. This guide, ensures we are embedding the highest standards of child safety across our school.
Each month, staff are focusing on 1 Child Safe Standard to establish consistency across and provide opportunity for each member of staff to develop their knowledge and skills in this significant area.
Our Child Safety Team are committed to embedding child safe standards across all that we do at St Mary's while we learn, work and play.

A huge congratulations to our new Student Voice Leaders! 👏🏻

All of the year 5 students recently participated in a democratic approach to leadership. Students were provided with a role description outlining key characteristics of the role and were invited to independently write a speech in their own time. They delivered these speeches on Tuesday in front of the grade 5 and 6 students, teachers and the leaders of our school.
We voted anonymously and it was with great pride that these students were introduced at assembly as our Student Voice Team. 🤩
