Swimming Sports Recap

On Friday 13th February, majority of our Year 12 Students attended their final secondary school swimming sports carnival. All students looked absolutely fantastic and it was great to see many students showing teamwork in novelty events such as the watermelon race, paddleboard racing and the relay against staff members. The Year 12’s were excellent role models for the students to come in future years.

English Lecture with Ross Huggard

On Wednesday 18th February, all of our Year 12 VCE (scored and unscored) students along with 17 other schools in the region attended a VCE English lecture run by Ross Huggard. The lecture was designed to provide Year 12 students with targeted insight into exam expectations, text analysis and writing strategies to assist with achieving high scores. His sessions broke down complex themes, helped to refine essay structure and clarify assessment criteria, giving students practical tools to improve their confidence and performance. Students reported positive experiences in these sessions and felt they had benefitted largely from the information provided to them.

Driving to School Forms

A reminder to all Year 12 students who have turned/are soon to turn 18 and will be driving to school they you need to have completed your Driving to School permission form and submitted it back to the Year 11/12 Office. You are unable to drive your car to school unless you have done this. Any students who will be regular travellers in your vehicles also need to be listed on that form and signed by their parent/guardian. Please also remember that you need to be parking in the Year 12 carpark – not in staff carparks and not on the sides of the streets surrounding the school.

Take Care

The demand of assessments and SAC’s is starting to and will continue to increase over the coming weeks. This will create higher levels of stress amongst the cohort. Remember to stay up to date with your work, check in with your teachers and look after one another. You are all in this together! As always, if you need any support, please reach out to the Year 12 Team or Hamish.
