Term 2 Sport Report

Term 2 was another outstanding term of sport for Dromana Secondary College, with strong participation, excellent teamwork and many impressive results across Southern Peninsula Division (SPD) competitions. Our students represented the school with pride, consistently showing effort, sportsmanship and determination across a wide range of sports.

The SPD Cross Country was another outstanding day for the school, with over 100 students representing Dromana Secondary College. Our students performed exceptionally well and, as a team, Dromana was crowned the overall winning school. From this event, 50 students progressed through to the Southern Metropolitan Region (SMR) Cross Country competition.

At the SMR Cross Country, our students again represented the school with pride. It was a great day of competition, with five students qualifying for the State Championships next term. Congratulations to Lexie Bateman, who placed 7th in the 12 to 13 girls event, Amara Jones, who placed 11th in the 12 to 13 girls event, Ari Trim, who placed 5th in the 12 to 13 boys event, Ky Elliott, who placed 7th in the 12 to 13 boys event, and Kira Brauckmann, who placed 10th in the 12 to 13 boys event.

Dromana also had a huge presence at the SPD Athletics competition, with over 130 students representing the school. Our students performed brilliantly across both track and field events, with Dromana once again being crowned the overall winning school. Dromana also had an outstanding day in the 4x100m relays, winning the 12 to 13 boys, 12 to 13 girls, 14 girls, 14 boys, 15 girls, 15 boys, 16 boys, 17 girls, 17 boys, 18 to 20 girls and 18 to 20 boys relay events.

Congratulations to all students who represented Dromana Secondary College throughout Term 2. Whether students progressed to the next level or simply gave their best for the school, their efforts were outstanding. Thank you also to the staff who coached, supported and supervised teams throughout a very busy term of sport.
