This week, our SVT students met. We had a very important task to complete for Mr Kirkright: giving our feedback on what we enjoyed about learning to read and write at WPS. The questions that we needed to answer included:
F-2 students:
- What do you like about phonics?
- What do you like about Little Learners Love Literacy?
- How could we make Phonics or Little Learners Love Literacy better?
Years 3-6 students:
- What do you enjoy most about Literacy lessons?
- What parts of Literacy teaching and learning help you understand?
- How can we improve Literacy teaching and learning at WPS?
Our responses were positive, with most F-2 Students enjoying learning about sounds, hand gestures and songs that accompany each sound.
Students in Years 3-6 enjoy using mini whiteboards and learning strategies that support their understanding of word spelling. Students indicated that completing additional writing is something they would enjoy in lessons.
