Year 3/4 News

Literacy
In Literacy we have been learning how to summarise non-fiction persuasive texts. Students have been identifying the main ideas and key supporting details, and putting them into their own words. These skills help students to understand the purpose of a text, recognise the author’s viewpoint, and communicate information clearly and concisely.
Numeracy
Students have been exploring the concept of perimeter and area in a hands-on and engaging way. They have been measuring and calculating the area of different objects using both formal and informal units, trying out a range of strategies such as arrays and the length × width method. Along the way, they have been comparing objects to see which have larger or smaller areas, developing both their problem-solving skills and their understanding of measurement.
Tennis
We were once again lucky to have Milo visit our school and teach our students tennis skills through a variety of fun games and activities. It was wonderful to see the students’ confidence and skills improve over the week. Thank you, Milo!
