Sporting Stars

This week our littlest legends have been perfecting their tennis and golf swings. Students have been heading out for coaching sessions with our friend Milo as part of the Sporting Schools Program. We have two further sessions next week.

Discovery Centre Excursion

Yesterday we had a fantastic visit to the Discovery Centre in Bendigo. For some of us it was the very first ride on a train, so the excitement started at the Echuca and Rochester Train Stations. We spent the day with our Year 1 and 2 friends building with Lego, engaging with the hands-on experiments and had a session in the planetarium- some were brave enough to try out the vertical slide. 

Prep Learning

Of course we are always busy learning new things and practicing what we already know and this fortnight in Preps it has been no different. 

Our Reading focus has been the 5 Finger Retell, where by we are practicing being able to recall the important parts of a story and tell someone else what the story is about. This helps us with our comprehension skills as well as recall the order of events.

Our Writing has focussed on Personal Recounts. We have been busy drafting and writing these. 

In Mathematics our main topic of focus has been 3D shapes. We are learning to recognise and names of the most common 3D shapes by looking at their features.
