Welcome back

Welcome back, everyone! I hope all had a restful and refreshing Easter break. As we head into the cooler months of winter, this is a great chance for our staff and students to reset, refresh their mindset, and ‘lock in’ for the term ahead. Bringing a renewed focus, positive energy, and a strong sense of purpose as we reconnect with our learning and make the most of the opportunities ahead.

Student Wellbeing Activities

We are pleased to share some upcoming student wellbeing initiatives that compliment the Pastoral Program. These include Cybersafety presentations for students in Years 7 to 9, along with a dedicated session for parents (see below), aimed at promoting safe and responsible online behaviour. We will also have Elephant Education supporting us to deliver education about Respectful Relationships at Year 9 to help prepare our Year 9’s to make informed, respectful choices. For our Year 10 students, we took the opportunity on Tuesday to remind them that their Year 10 exams are now just seven weeks away, and we encouraged students to begin preparing with focus and confidence. These Year 10 exams are the ones that will help students and parents to work out whether a VCE mainstream, VCE Vocational Major or workforce/TAFE pathway is what they are best suited to. While our Year 11 and 12 VCE mainstream students have been presented with sessions on maximising their study.

The importance of these learning opportunities always align to our ROCKS and cannot be overstated.

Parent Learning Session “Navigating the Digital Playground”

Tuesday 12th May in the GEODE Theatre (Clyde North Campus) 6.30pm

  • Do you have questions about what your child is doing online world?

  • Who they may be connecting to?

  • The digital playground is a largely unsupervised space where your child is spending time – don’t you want to know more about what might be happening and what tough and educational conversations you need to be having with your young person?

Our Year 7-9 students will be engaged in a Cybersafety Wellbeing learning sessions in the coming weeks, delivered by expert presenters in this area.  To compliment the messaging they will receive we have taken the opportunity to book the Cybersafety Project presenters in to deliver a ‘one off’ session to our parents – Don’t miss out! Your children need you to know what they are doing online even if they don’t say it in as many words. For more information and to book your seat at this free event go to.

Your child needs you!!!

Mother’s Day

This year’s Mother’s day morning gathering has moved to the exciting new time of 8am Thursday 7th May. We hope the change of date will enable those with children at primary schools to attend both the St Peter's gathering and that of their primary aged child. Hosted by our SRC, come along and share some special time with your child. This is a great way to meet and mix with the mum’s and carers of the community. Please RSVP here

Uniform

Could we please have your support with how your child presents when they leave your house on the way to school. As a parent of teenage girls myself I know it can seem like a broken record at times, but we cannot give up on what we expect of our young people. Cultural sensitivity is always a priority with how our students present however too many students are coming to the campus in the wrong pants, mesh or branded runners and facial hair that is not accompanied by a medical or cultural exemption.
