Recently both Kyah and Scarlett Wright represented themselves with distinction at the All Schools Touch Tournament which by the way is one of (if not the) largest touch tournaments in Victoria.

During this tournament they both refereed 11 games - far in excess of any of the players. Additionally, they both refereed the Grand Final for the Year 9-10 Boys - a sought after game.

They continue to represent themselves with pride and a maturity that exceeds their years, and proudly let people know the school they attend when asked - frequently shining a positive light on St Peter's College.

Kyah has been part of the incumbent refereeing team that adjudicates the touch competition games at Peninsula Grammar every Saturday (Terms 1 and 4) – because of her passion and referring expertise she is specifically sought to referee games of a higher grade standing.

Additionally, Kyah competed in the Victorian Touch Premier Competition (Adult Grade) for the 3rd year running and continued to represent herself and her team extremely well - making the finals again!

Furthermore, Kyah also attended the National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour representing Victoria for her 4th consecutive year, this time in the U16s grade.

More recently, she competed in an Open Mixed adult touch competition in Altona Park (the Phoenix Ashes) where she not only contributed to her team's, overall efforts but competed equally with the adults, some who had travelled interstate to attend. Kyah more than held her own with the adults, surprising many with her skill and tenacity.

She then backed that up by attending the Victorian Junior State Cup in the U19s grade - which they won (3rd time winner for Kyah).

An extra sweet win as they beat the team that beat them in last year's final! This is Kyah’s 4th year at the Junior State Cup.

She is currently refereeing at the Victorian All Schools State Touch Competition covering all age groups with teams from 77 schools (over 1000 participants in total).  She will referee 16 games in two days!

Kyah’s younger sister Scarlett is a star in the making also….

Scarlet competed in the School Sports Australian Nationals for Touch Football in the tournament in Ballarat. She was part of the U12s team, and they achieved the best result they have had!

Recently she also competed in an Open Mixed adult touch competition in Altona Park (the Phoenix Ashes) where she not only contributed to her teams overall efforts but competed equally with the adults, some who had travelled interstate to attend (and many that could not believe she was only 12!).  She had the distinction of not letting through any 1 on 1 tries for the whole day!

She then backed that up by attending the Victorian Junior State Cup in the U14s grade - where they came 2nd overall. This is Scarlet's 2nd year at the Junior State Cup.

She is currently refereeing at the Victorian All Schools State Touch Competition covering all age groups with teams from 77 schools (over 1000 participants in total). She will also referee 16 games in two days!

The Wright family wish to extend their gratitude for enabling Kyah and Scarlett to pursue their passion on such a stage, at such a level, in such a positive environment.

St Thomas the Apostle Alpha program

The parish of St Thomas the Apostle Clyde North is preparing to begin its fourth Alpha season and are deeply grateful for the opportunity to once again invite people into this beautiful space of encounter and discovery. Alpha is open to everyone—those with strong faith, those who are searching, and those who may simply be wondering if God has a place in their lives. It is a gentle invitation to pause, reflect, and explore life’s deeper questions in a safe and welcoming environment.

Alpha is a free, relaxed and welcoming space where people can explore life, faith, and meaning together. Each evening begins with a shared meal, followed by a short video and an open conversation where all questions are welcome and every voice is respected. Many find it to be a place of genuine encounter, friendship, and renewal.

The next Alpha series will run over 9 weeks on Wednesday evenings from 7:00–9:00pm, beginning Wednesday 29th April.

Registrations can be made using the following link: https://www.trybooking.com/DLKOW
