ECSI Survey

A final reminder to all parents to complete the ECSI survey which was provided via Compass. At this stage records indicate that 11 families have completed the survey, of which, 8 have emailed me to confirm their completion and have had their names entered into the draw for the prize:

  • A $100 gift voucher for a meal at an Echuca Hotel of your choice
  • Homemade beef lasagna and Sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce (serves 6)

This survey provides valuable information and feedback in regard to the Catholic Identity at St Mary’s.

Thank you to those families who have completed the survey and I wish you luck in the draw!

The Journey to Easter

Each week learners have participated in a Lenten prayer in their classroom or alongside their combined year level, acknowledging our journey towards Easter and how each of us can prepare by way of prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

This week we culminated this journey with a liturgy to celebrate Holy Week, the most sacred time in our Church’s calendar. Year levels depicted the important events of Holy Week with reverence through story and song. A powerful celebration to end our term and fill our hearts as we journey towards Easter Sunday.

Thank you also to our Years 3 – 6 families for their generous donations of Easter eggs for our raffle; to all families for their support of the sale of our raffle tickets and congratulations to all those who took home a prize or two!

May you each enjoy a blessed Easter.

Wishing you all a refreshing, joyful Easter filled with sunshine,

chocolate, and quality time together.

May this season of renewal bring peace and happiness to your home

and an Easter that reflects the beauty of God's love

and the depth of His grace.

We look forward to welcoming our learners back refreshed for the new term on Tuesday 21st April.

Sr Ceciia

Sr Cecilia Merrigan will depart for her new home in Melbourne on Thursday 18th April. Echuca has been blessed with the presence of the Order of the Brigidine Sisters for a wonderful history of 140 years. We thank Sr Cecilia for her gift of faith and passion in our community and wish her safe passage and continued happiness in her next journey.

Staff and learners will farewell Sr Cecilia in Week 1 of Term 2 for an opportunity for us to acknowledge her gifts.

St Mary's Choir Anzac Day performance.

As mentioned at the end of last year, Echuca RSL have extended an invitation to St Mary's Choir to lead the singing of 'Spirit of the ANZAC's' at the ANZAC Day service on Saturday 25th April.   As per tradition at St Mary's, all learners and staff are invited to march as a school community beginning in Hare Street at the pedestrian crossing lights near the arcade and marching to the Echuca War Memorial Cenotaph, located in the Civic Centre Gardens, near the Echuca library. We would gather in our school uniform at 10.30am to march as a school community. Parents & Guardians are encouraged to walk with us.

Caritas Fundraising

Congratulations and thank you to all families who have supported our fundraising efforts in support of Caritas Australia. Caritas supports the most vulnerable in our community, society and world.

Each Year level organised their fundraiser along with its implementation. Events ranged from Crazy hair day to a Dance party and Rainbow day.

This term the highest fundraisers were Year 2! Congratulations. Year 2 received their Zooper Doopers today!

Overall, a total of $4000.00 has been raised and will support those who are in most need.

Thank you for your generosity.
