What a hugely successful term! Term One is always so fun-filled, exciting and new. We are forming new relationships, navigating a range of emotions as our learners, staff and families navigate the new. New teachers, new relationships, successes and challenges. Thank you all for your positive contribution to our term; it has been busy, settled and an overall success!
We are well into Holy Week and in the busy rhythm of school life. Holy Week offers a valuable opportunity to pause and reflect. It has been a time to foster understanding, respect, and mindfulness across our school community. I hope families continue to engage in Holy Week and the Easter period to pause, reflect, rest and renew.
It has been amazing to return to our learning environments and observe the impact of our new sliding doors! Staff and learners have wanted flexible arrangements for both closed and open-door learning. The engagement, minimised noise, movement and increased cognitive load ability has been exciting to see. I am often in and around classrooms, and the staff and learners are so engaged and present in their learning; I know great education is happening!
Thank you to the many families who attended our Welcome to the Year and SME community event last night! It was wonderful to see the children playing, dancing and enjoying photos and treats from the Easter Bunny! It was a true joy moving around and speaking to many of you, who shared what a positive start to the year the term has been. Thank you for recognising the efforts of many of your children’s teachers; the feedback and gratitude have been passed on.
This term has seen many liturgies, sporting days, excursions and learning expos. Thank you to the overwhelming family support and presence we have had in our school. Our learners thrive when in positive partnerships with their teachers, parents, and peers. It has been a great display of community and commitment, and I look forward to seeing it continue throughout the year.
As we return next term, we will enter the enrolment phase of the year for new and existing families. If you have a younger school-age child ready to join our community, please be sure to complete the form posted on Compass. If you know anyone in the community exploring schools, I encourage you to recommend they come and see our school via our tours, Open Day and evening events! As a community, we do offer a sensational learning environment and a community many enjoy being part of. Please see the enrolment flyer included in our school information section of this newsletter.
We now all begin our Easter, Term One break, and I truly wish all families a restful and rejuvenating holiday. I hope the autumn weather and cooler days are a welcome relief for you all, and I hope we all get out and enjoy the non-school days. Staff will return on Monday, 20th April, for a day of professional learning, followed by the children on Tuesday, 21st April.
I wish all of you a happy, and faith renewing Easter.
In faith, trust and love.
